MySoldMate, the first real estate app to match buyers and sellers to their ideal Realtor® using compatibility testing, is using Snapchat to promote the new app and attract millennial home buyers, who are a large percentage of the app's target market.

The MySoldMate app cuts the legwork out of searching through countless Realtor® profiles to find the perfect one; it matches users to the best agent within minutes. At 35 percent, buyers aged 35 and younger are the largest generational group of home buyers, according to the National Association of Realtors®, and first-time buyers make up 32 percent of all home buyers. Additionally, 89 percent of millennials who purchased a home used an agent.

Snapchat is an effective way for MySoldMate to reach its target audience of millennials. Research shows Snapchat reaches 41 percent of all 18-to-34 year-olds in the United States, and Snapchatters watch over 10 billion videos per day. Snapchat is the third most popular social network among millennials, after only Facebook and Instagram. It has a 32.9 percent penetration on the demographics' mobile phones.

To capture this audience, MySoldMate posts regularly to Snapchat and also uses geofilters, a special overlay that communicates the “where and when” of a Snap. Geofilters can include brand logos, making them an effective way to increase brand visibility. Those who use the geofilter are sharing the MySoldMate message with their friends.

In addition, MySoldMate is running a promotion in which they are creating geofilters for people that have special occasions, such as birthday parties, weddings or bachelor parties, for free. MySoldMate created a geofilter for a widely recognized business and media guru that was viewed more than 50,000 times in a 24-hour period. On the day the geofilter ran, MySoldMate had 14 Realtors® and four buyers sign up for their service.
