Our core values focus not just on making the business succeed but on helping each team member develop a rewarding career and find personal fulfillment.

Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education and professional training, received recognition as one of the Best Companies to Work For in Utah for the second year in a row. Utah Business Magazine celebrated Career Step among 50 top employers in the state at its annual event December 8.

“It is an honor to be recognized as one of the Best Companies to Work for in Utah for the second consecutive year,” said Steve Tober, President and CEO of Career Step. “Our core values focus not just on making the business succeed but on helping each team member develop a rewarding career and find personal fulfillment. I feel this recognition validates the strength of our people-focused culture. When employees have a career with room for growth and professional development, they are energized to fulfill our mission of helping others improve their lives through education.”

To determine which companies make the list, Utah Business examines participants’ workplace elements, including benefits and pay, fairness and opportunities, corporate culture, internal communication and employee pride. The winning companies are categorized by company size into micro, small, medium and large.

Being named to the Best Companies list caps off an exciting year for Career Step. Earlier in 2016, the company moved into a state-of-the-art office building that further promotes its collaborative culture and teamwork. In August, Career Step was also included for an eighth time in the prestigious Inc. 5000 list published annually by Inc. magazine, which ranks the fastest growing, private companies in the nation.

“We’re thrilled that respected business thought leaders like Utah Business Magazine and Inc. recognize our efforts to help our employees thrive,” said Allen Miller, Career Step Vice President of People Strategy. “We have made a deliberate effort to put our people first as we grow. We have wonderful employees who put so much of themselves into their work, and we want to make sure they know we value that effort. Initiatives like Workout Wednesdays, our on-site gym and team-building activities pay big dividends as our team members feel rewarded and respected.”
