Quintron’s Bob Chadwick Receives Award From Data Computer Corporation of America
Santa Maria, California (PRWEB) December 13, 2016 -- Quintron Systems, Inc. (quintron.com), the global provider of mission critical voice conference systems and integrated electrical and network solutions, is pleased to announce that Bob Chadwick, engineering manager of operations at Vandenberg AFB (VAFB), has received the award of Teammate of the Quarter for the Western Modernization Network (WMN) project from Data Computer Corporation of America (DCCA). The award was made November 14th at the DCCA offices in Santa Maria and was in recognition of excellent service during a critical six-week window this past summer to complete site surveys at a number of buildings around VAFB.
The WMN project is scheduled through 2020 to replace near-obsolete communications equipment supporting Range operations at VAFB to a more modern IPv6 format platform. In preparation for the replacement, the many buildings where operating equipment exists had to be checked with tests completed on fiber optic cables interconnecting to other Range locations. Bob’s role was to complete these tests within the six-week window available while current Range operations were in stand-down mode.
Quintron Systems is a teaming company with DCCA, along with other small and large businesses to complete the multi-year update to the VAFB operational infrastructure. This project will require extensive planning to facilitate the conversion between old and new systems while keeping the western Range fully operational to support VAFB launch support.
“Having a company like Quintron with its many years of successful support to VAFB operations was an important part of the team we assembled to complete this important project,” said Jake Malone, DCCA program manager for the WMN project. “Bob’s exceptional engineering background coupled with long-term VAFB experience made his work this summer the obvious choice as our Teammate of the Quarter award.”
“I am pleased to be joining the team at Quintron which has such wonderful history of Range support.” added Dominick Barry, the new president of Quintron Systems. “This award recognizes the excellent skills available in the Quintron staff to continue that support into the future.”
