Spokane, WA (PRWEB) December 15, 2016
On January 24, 2017 Lilac City Law will be conducting the first of a series of free Kids Protection Plan discussions throughout the Spokane area. This workshop will take place at the Spokane Public Library on 3324 S. Perry St.
Randi L. Johnson, owner of Lilac City Law will be discussing how to protect children in case of the unthinkable happening. The purpose of these workshops is to help parents make plans to ensure their kids are protected in case of parental injury, incapacity, or death.
Johnson started providing these free workshops after being shown herself how important they are for parents of young children. Johnson stated, “it was pointed out to me recently that without a proper protection plan, the fate of my own babies wasn’t secure. If my husband and I were in some accident and were incapacitated for some time, law enforcement and social workers would make the determination of who should be the temporary and permanent guardians of our children. What if they appointed someone we would never want to have charge of our babies? Would that person know how we wanted them raised? Would they know what is important to us? Would they be able to access any of our savings, important family documents, and basic healthcare information?” Adding quickly in response to her own question, “Without a kids protection plan in place, I couldn’t answer this.”
Through her law firm, Lilac City Law, Johnson now helps other parents to prepare for the worst case possibilities. She notes, “there must be so many others that are in the same place..and if helping them to understand the risks and plan for their futures isn’t the best way to create a fulfilling career, what is?”
