The Trade Group Launches Economical, Modular Stage System for Live Events
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) December 14, 2016 -- Whether The Trade Group is orchestrating esports competitions for IEM/ESL, DreamHack or Turner ELeague, or facilitating an annual sales meeting for clients like clothier J. Hilburn, stages – our deck systems – feature prominently in the design.
For years, The Trade Group’s Event Services team relied on rental stages from event venues, but mismatched components continued to be problematic.
According to Chris Leepow, Project Manager on The Trade Group’s Event Services team, “We create a lot of tournament style arenas, with game players on the stage, elevated above the crowd. Many venues rent stock stage and deck systems, but there are variations in the different systems available. So we ended up cross renting deck systems, which didn’t match up well. In other cases, clients simply needed a custom shape.”
In search of a better solution, The Trade Group designed its own line of customizable stages for live events such as trade shows, corporate events, gaming tournaments, sales meetings, fashion shows, speaking events and the like.
“Having our own proprietary stage system gives us more control over the unpredictable variables we kept seeing with rental systems. That’s the primary reason why we are stocking our own system now,” Leepow says.
Mike Latva, Product Development Manager at The Trade Group, was tasked with spearheading the design for the new stage system. Latva set out to create a system that would be lightweight, durable and easy to customize and install.
The system also needed to be affordable. As Latva explains, “From the start, it was our goal to create a turnkey stage system that would fit clients’ needs to be elevated from the floor without a lot of money involved. Typical deck structures and custom wooden decks are much more expensive.”
The aluminum stage components come in a variety of shapes and sizes that lock together with Rotolock connections. Standard segments are 4’ x 8’ with heights ranging from 8” to 40.” Options include a 4’ x 4’ triangular segment to create a 45-degree angle, as well as a 4’ x 4’ quarter round, which can be used to create a stage with a rounded end.
To give the system a more finished and modern look, Latva created a design with a customizable façade that would accommodate existing, standard extrusions. “With a built-in system groove, it’s easy to attach rigid or fabric panels to the sides of the stage. This provides a nice alternative to traditional drapes,” Latva says.
While the system comes with durable, black, laminate ABS flooring, custom flooring options are also available. For example, when Budweiser asked for a stage that looked like a sheet of ice for a Bud Light event, the team swapped in a clear, acrylic floor with blue LED lighting underneath along with a smoky haze. These custom touches took the stage to a whole new level.
According to Leepow, “If you are doing a presentation at a live event and are looking for something above and beyond a traditional stage, we can design a stage with a dynamic design that grabs your audience’s attention and aligns with your brand.”
