Florida Region Partners with Prominent Beach Volleyball Tours Across the State
Eustis, FL (PRWEB) December 17, 2016 -- The Florida Region of USA Volleyball is proud to announce that they will be partnering with Dig The Beach, Sunshine State Outdoor Volleyball Association, Elite Beach and Vero Beach Volleyball for the 2017 Florida USAV Beach Series! These very successful tour affiliates are all established in their own communities and the Florida Region is honored to join forces in order to create the largest USAV sanctioned beach volleyball tour in the United States.
The tour will offer playing divisions for both juniors and adults. By participating in tour stops, juniors will be able to earn a bid to the American Beach Tour (ABT) Junior Championships, while adults will be able to qualify for free entry into the ABT Adult Championships.
For over 25 years, Dig The Beach (DTB) has provided both juniors and adults with one of the largest and most competitive beach volleyball tour in the United States. The tour prides itself on the success and number of junior girls who have received college scholarships due to being scouted during their tournaments. Based in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, this established tour has also graduated some of the top adult professional players, both on the domestic and world stage. Diogo Sousa, DTB Tour Director, says, “Dig the Beach is excited to join the Florida USAV Beach Series! As the largest and longest running beach tour in Florida, we (DTB) are happy to announce our affiliation for 2017 and we look forward to working with the other beach tours in the state to grow our events and create more competitive playing opportunities for our participants.”
The Sunshine State Outdoor Volleyball Association (SSOVA) was founded in 2004 with the intent to host junior and adult beach volleyball tournaments that focused on the players. Based in Clearwater Beach, FL, it is one of the only tours truly run by the players themselves. Sam Cibrone, Founder and Tour Director of SSOVA, says that his organization is very excited to join the Florida USAV Beach Series for their second year and to continue to grow the sport of beach volleyball. “We feel that this partnership is mutually beneficial and we want to continue to run great events,” Cibrone said. “We know with the Florida Region’s support we can accomplish this goal.”
Elite Beach of Daytona Beach, FL will be joining the Florida USAV Beach Tour for their second year as well. This organization specializes in junior’s tournaments and offers a variety of training sessions and clinics. Cara Swayze, Elite Beach Tour Director, said, “Elite Beach is excited to partner with these amazing beach organizations and is committed to providing quality, competitive beach play for our youth and adult beach players. This partnership promises to help Daytona continue to grow the sport of volleyball!”
The series will kick off on February 25th – 26th, 2017 at Hickory Point Beach in Tavares, FL. This event will feature both adults and juniors, as well as music, entertainment and more.
Steve Bishop, Executive Director and President of the Florida Region of USA Volleyball said,
“We are honored to be working with these well-known beach tours in Florida. Our mission in the Florida Region is to aggressively promote the sport of volleyball and create competitive playing opportunities for players of all ages. As part of the National Governing Body of our sport here in Florida, we could not ask for better partners as we continue to see beach volleyball experience significant growth in every area of the state. The quality of the events produced by these promoters is what we want for our Florida Region members and for the hundreds of participants that travel to Florida from other states and countries. The Florida USAV Beach Series will set the standard for other tours across the US as we focus on schedule collaboration, athlete safeguards, and outstanding event experiences for participants and spectators. With over 40 tour stops scheduled in 2017, we look forward to some unforgettable moments in the sand.”
