The workshop, entitled Management of Treatment-Resistant Psychiatric Disorders brought together eight leading faculty to analyze the most recent evidence on management of patients with major psychiatric syndromes who do not respond to initial treatment. The program began with an overview of the entire workshop, followed by Charles B. Nemeroff, M.D., Ph.D. (Professor and Chairman, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, University of Miami) leading a state-of-the-art discussion of personalized medicine in psychiatry including genomics, inflammation, endocrine markers and brain imaging findings.
