want to set-out to make similar memories
Windber, PA (PRWEB) December 27, 2016
Take a trip around the United States in Tony Petracca’s new release, Seeing America First ($16.99, paperback, 978-1-49-848264-6; $9.99, e-book, 978-1-49-848265-3). After three decades of traveling the United States, Petracca has combined his extensive research, tips and tricks he’s learned along the way, and personal anecdotes into an entertaining and not so average guidebook to the United States. This book covers everything from planning the once-in-a-lifetime cross country road trip, city guides, and entries on national parks, museums, and more. Petracca truly leaves no stone unturned.
“I have taken cross-country vacations 40 times (plus countless shorter trips), specifically to visit systematically such things as churches and missions; museums of various sorts; showcases for living things; and numerous historical sites spanning our nation's past. I have visited every US state capitol, as well as fifty-three of the fifty-nine entities in our National Park System, plus topographies of every sort,” states the author. “I hope readers will not only learn much more about the specifics that America has to offer the driving tourist, but also that he or she will be both entertained and motivated by my personal experiences, and want to set-out to make similar memories.”
Tony Petracca, a native of Philadelphia, is a Catholic priest active in Western Pennsylvania. Since his parents and siblings all moved to the West Coast in the 1980s, he has undertaken over three dozen cross-country drives to visit them, experiencing over that time an incredible chunk of the intervening continent in its various aspects. While his guardian angel has needed to work overtime on some of these excursions, he has always enjoyed a strong sense of the Lord’s providential presence on these treks, so that travel on US interstates, wherever else he is heading, has always brought him closer to God.
