The Charity Network Looks to Broadway for Newly Appointed CMO
(PRWEB) December 20, 2016 -- The Charity Network has announced that Jan Friedlander Svendsen has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer, overseeing the marketing for the Charity Network’s three leading digital fundraising platforms, Charitybuzz, Chideo and Prizeo, which assist charities with the transition from analog to digital. Jan Svendsen joins the Charity Network after spending the last 17 years as the Head of Marketing and Business Development for the Broadway League and the Tony Awards. During her tenure, Broadway experienced a 77% increase in revenue in New York City and a 50% increase for traveling shows, while attendance at theaters across the county also increased by over 28%.
“Jan brings a breadth of leadership creativity and experience,” said Charity Network founder and Chairman Todd Wagner. “From her understanding of the nonprofit space and her desire to make a difference, we are confident that Jan will contribute to our success in this rapidly changing digital fundraising world.”
Jan’s role will be pivotal to continuing the Charity Network’s success in providing a one-stop shop for brands, celebrities, and nonprofits that are launching fundraisers and awareness campaigns. Each platform within the Charity Network is already an established leader in its own field: Charitybuzz in online charity auctions, Chideo in cause and entertainment content, and Prizeo in sweepstakes and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. The three fundraising giants work together to offer an unparalleled and customizable "menu" of resources to raise funds and awareness for global issues.
“I’m thrilled to lead Charity Network’s amazing team of inspired brand strategy professionals, content creators, and social media specialists along with our digital storytellers and publicists. On Broadway, I loved the Improv philosophy of saying 'Yes, and....' and plan to bring that philosophy with me to motivate others to 'Give, and...’”.
