The Oil, Gas and Chemical CFD Conference to be held May 19-20 in Houston will show how engineers can leverage CFD simulation to address cost concerns during the economic downturn

CD-adapco, a global provider of multidisciplinary engineering simulation and design exploration software, is hosting the Oil, Gas and Chemical CFD Conference on May 19-20 in Houston.

This premier biennial event brings together leading professionals from the Oil, Gas and Chemical industries and gives them a platform to share their experiences in the application of CFD to improve designs and reduce costs without compromising safety. Participating speakers include, but are not limited to, General Motors, Shell, OneSubsea and Technip.

The conference aims to share experiences and best practices from across the engineering world. This year’s event will feature a presentation from General Motors, a pioneer in successfully applying CFD in solving complex engineering problems to reduce time and cost. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the methods and modes to achieve such success.

Featured speakers at the event are Dr. Ray Cocco, President at Particulate Solids Research, Inc., and Dr. Kevin Farrell, Principal Engineer for Fluid Flow & Process Heat Transfer at Heat Transfer Research, Inc. The event will include the following sessions: Heat Exchangers, Separation, Process Safety, Fire and Smoke, Fluidization, Design of Offshore Floating Vessels, Flow-Induced Vibration, Flow Assurance and Combustion.
