Graduates take away the tools and practices that will help them create better health, stronger resilience, greater overall well-being, and more effective relationships in their workplaces, institutions, and personal lives.

For the first time, Wholebeing Institute, a leading educational organization focused on the science of well-being, will offer its acclaimed Certificate in Positive Psychology (CiPP) program on the West Coast.

This year-long online and onsite course, which begins in September, offers an in-depth, integrated exploration of the science and direct application of positive psychology—the study of individual and societal flourishing—in all aspects and stages of life. The CiPP program has been offered five years in a row at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, and at Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia, with close to 200 students enrolled in each session.

This will be the only iteration of this highly sought-after program launching in 2016. The first onsite component of the program takes place October 30–November 4, at Granlibakken Tahoe in Tahoe City, California.

Wholebeing Institute (WBI) courses, including its foundational CiPP course, focus on the whole person—education that encompasses spiritual, physical, intellectual, relational, and emotional well-being. The CiPP program is designed and co-taught by Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar, author of the best-selling book Happier and teacher of one of the most popular courses ever offered at Harvard University; WBI's CEO, Megan McDonough, who focuses on self-leadership; Dr. Maria Sirois, expert in resilience; and Megha Nancy Buttenheim, an innovator in the field of mind/body integration and wellness.

The CiPP program offers a combination of accessibility and academic rigor, and has enhanced the careers of hundreds of therapists, business leaders, health-care professionals, educators, and life coaches, as well as providing hundreds more from all walks of life with an inspiring, transformational experience.

"Grounded in scientific findings, this program offers an in-depth understanding of how to work toward optimal human functioning," says McDonough. "Graduates take away the tools and practices that will help them create better health, stronger resilience, greater overall well-being, and more effective relationships in their workplaces, institutions, and personal lives."
