Vector sparked in me a never-ending desire for personal growth, and I’m confident I wouldn’t be who I am today without the great many peers, friends and mentors I have met along the way.

Vector Marketing Canadian National Recruiting Manager Sherri Dickie recently won a prestigious award from the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE). She is the recipient of the 2016 Ontario Regional Recognition Award, which honors volunteer contributions to the association at the regional level. Vector Marketing is the sales and marketing arm of Olean, New York-based Cutco Cutlery. The company manufactures the world’s finest knives.
Vector Marketing is the largest recruiter of undergraduate students in the United States and recently celebrated its 25th year operating in Canada.
The Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers gives regional awards for four areas in Canada. Only one volunteer may receive the award annually from each region, and the Regional Recognition Award is not necessarily granted in each region every year.
Dickie won the award, in part, because of her passionate efforts to build relationships with university campuses across Canada, said Frances Humphreys, who nominated her for the award.
“As Vector’s Canadian National Recruiting Manager, Sherri has made meaningful and significant contributions to CACEE at a regional level through a number of activities and sponsorships over several years,” said Humphreys, CACEE’s chair of the Ontario Regional Advisory Board.
Dickie has been responsible for Vector Marketing Canada’s campus partnerships for the last nine years. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Guelph. Dickie first started with Cutco Cutlery in 1996 as an independent contractor, where she was personally responsible for more than $450,000 in sales of merchandise. She says she is thrilled to see her years of work with universities around Canada recognized.
“I love that Vector has been launching pad for thousands of students, giving them the opportunity to develop sought-after soft skills in communication, networking, presenting to an audience, time management and problem solving,” Dickie said. “Vector sparked in me a never-ending desire for personal growth, and I’m confident I wouldn’t be who I am today without the great many peers, friends and mentors I have met along the way.”
