Using Simplifile’s secure, web-based service, customers ranging from title companies to banks, attorneys, and lien filers, can scan or upload and submit documents directly to the register’s office. In minutes, the documents are reviewed, stamped, recorded, and returned back to the submitter electronically.
“E-recording is a win-win for the county and for its customers, saving time and money on mailing expenses and eliminating paper waste among other benefits,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “We’re thrilled to be able to provide this user-friendly technology in Cheatham County and help streamline the overall recording process.”
Recording fees and payments can also be processed securely through Simplifile, helping to reduce payment errors and eliminate check-writing expenses.
Cheatham County is the 27th Tennessee county to adopt Simplifile’s e-recording service, joining McMinn and Morgan counties in Tennessee that also implemented e-recording this month. Nationwide, more than 1,370 counties e-record with Simplifile.
High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin submitting documents for e-recording through Simplifile.
