Rocket Matter, the pioneering cloud-based law practice management software, announces Atlas 2.0, a major software upgrade offering powerful new billing functionality, workflow improvements, and user interface enhancements.

The biggest news of the release is a major advance for Rocket Matter Payments with the addition of automated payment plans and recurring billing. This payment system removes the need for attorneys to spend time sending out invoices. Instead, they can automatically bill and collect money from clients on a monthly basis.

“On average, small law firms collect only 71% of what they bill, so a frictionless, effortless automated billing system can dramatically drive up cash collections for a law firm,” says Larry Port, CEO of Rocket Matter. “That’s what we’re excited to offer.”

With payment plans, lawyers can set an amount for an invoice and charge clients on a monthly basis until the balance is paid off. This is great for situations where clients cannot pay large bills but can pay in increments, which is commonly the case with Immigration attorneys, Criminal Defense attorneys, or any litigators who generate large bills. Attorneys simply put their client’s credit card or ACH routing information on file, and the balance is automatically paid gradually over time.

With recurring billing, lawyers can charge a recurring monthly fee for service. This is a highly popular option for attorneys offering Alternative Fee Arrangements (AFAs), such as business attorneys who provide regular service for customers for a monthly fee. After the initial setup, the law firm doesn’t have to do a thing— the billing happens automatically each month.

User Interface Improvements
Atlas 2.0 eliminates 80% of the page load time in Rocket Matter, thanks to its new single-page architecture design and major database optimizations. Attorneys and paralegals can transition from billing screens to matter dashboards to calendars instantly, making Rocket Matter a lightning-fast experience.

In addition, Atlas 2.0 allows Rocket Matter users to add and edit more of their critical information without transitioning away from the page they’re currently on. This new feature allows you to work more efficiently because you can view or add the information you need—such as billable time entry, calendar events, and tasks—without leaving the screen you’re working with.

Intuitive Workflows with Mix and Match Matter Templates
If you’re working on the same types of matters over and over again, save time and reduce errors with our newly updated Rocket Matter templates.

Rocket Matter templates allow you to define dates, deadlines, roles billing setup, and tasks for different matter types, saving you tons of time when you create a new matter.

Now, Rocket Matter users can add additional templates to a case already in process. Whether your case has changed drastically or you just need to make incremental adjustments, you can layer in another matter template to your case. This means, for example, that if a case settles versus goes to trial, you can add different calendar and tasks.
