President-elect Donald Trump announced today his intent to nominate Dr. David Shulkin as the next secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

MOAA has worked closely with Dr. Shulkin, and we have seen great progress in reforming VA health care under his leadership.

President-elect Donald Trump announced today his intent to nominate Dr. David Shulkin as the next secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) issued the following statement in response.

“MOAA is very pleased to see Dr. David J. Shulkin's name put forward as President-elect Donald Trump's nominee to be the next secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA),” said retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Dana T. Atkins, MOAA's president and CEO.

“MOAA has worked closely with Dr. Shulkin,” Atkins said, “and we have seen great progress in reforming VA health care under his leadership. If he is confirmed, we look forward to working with him, the incoming administration, and the Congress to continue the positive momentum made to date.”
