Offers hope that change happens when you can admit your failures, and a good laugh is a great place to start

Jim Hart’s new book Monkey Warts and All($12.99, paperback, 9781498491679; e-book, $6.99, 9781498491686), is a satire on the way that children have been raised in America in the past several decades, and the educational system, political system, and worldview they have absorbed. Readers will find this satire very funny, and it is a unique way of looking at things. If you enjoyed The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy or some of Kurt Vonnegut’s novels, you will like Monkey Warts and All.

Hart says, “There are several takeaways from this book, but the most important is a good laugh. Change begins when you can admit your failings, and a good laugh is a great start. In addition to the linkage between our society’s problems and its predominant worldview as reflected in the educational monopsony and liberal politics, there is a simplified explanation of the physical universe and time that I wrote for my former students and others who may be interested. The relationship between society’s worldview and faith is explored superficially and hopefully some may reconsider the role of faith in their lives.”

Jim Hart holds a science degree from MIT and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Most of his work has been corporate; in additional to working up the ladder in a multi-national chemical company, he has helped run two small corporations. After retiring, he was called into a ministry of teaching in public schools and was first hired to teach high school Math. He was fired before starting for not having enough math in college because the state clerk had never heard of MIT, and he didn’t go to a “good school for math” like the University of Delaware. A week later he was hired to teach Science, so he has been teaching, if you call it that, ever since. He enjoys teaching children how to play violin and Bluegrass music and has created music jams and kid’s music programs and groups.
