Gustavo Novoa, an artist, poet, devoted writer and author, has completed his new book “Seven Arrows.” This vibrantly crafted and vividly illustrated book takes the reader on a journey through both the dream of young Rocky- the story’s protagonist- and the world of Novoa’s fine works of art.
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Gustavo Novoa’s work portrays the talent of the author and the beauty of his work.
In the story, young Ricky is a ten-year old boy who lives with his busy mother and elderly Native American grandfather. After fading away into a world of sleep and dreams on a bench in front of a panther cage at the Central Park zoo, Ricky travels through the colors of the rainbow and their corresponding planets. During these travels, Ricky encounters numerous animals who impart new-found wisdom to him through lessons which help him better understand his culture, the animal kingdom and humanity in general.
Hailed as a champion of ecology and wildlife preservation, Chilean Born artist Gustavo Novoa launched his career in Paris, 1961 via his first one-man show.
His painting career grew exponentially from the 1970’s, through today, with his works being auctioned by Prince Charles, presented to First Lady Barbara Bush, and exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santiago, Chile.
Having published an illustrated poetry collection entitled “Jungle Fables” in 1977, “Seven Arrows” is Novoa’s second work of literature, thus allowing Novoa to tell a “story” as his paintings have.
