US Automotive Manufacturing is the topic of a new "Informed" Episode Led by Host Rob Lowe
(PRWEB) February 09, 2017 -- Automotive manufacturing is a pillar of the US economy, though many Americans know little about its inner workings. Host Rob Lowe introduces a segment that explores this important industry in the latest episode of the “Informed” series, developed for Public Television.
American workers have been making cars since Henry Ford founded his company in 1903. Change is constant in this fast-paced industry, and American car manufacturers have undergone particularly dramatic shifts in the past decade. A leaner, more high-tech industry has emerged, designed to compete in an expanding global marketplace. This segment describes how the “Big Three” automakers have adapted to their circumstances, and how car companies are preparing for an uncertain future with autonomous vehicles, regulation, and a growing interest in less car-dependent urban lifestyles.
The program also explores the consumer side of the auto industry, following vehicles from their beginnings on the assembly floor to the moment they are driven off a dealership lot.
“Informed” is produced for public television and distributed to Public Television PBS member stations around the US. Presented in HD and featuring TV and movie star Rob Lowe, the independently-produced show keeps Americans in the loop on a variety of social, cultural, and economic issues.
