Montclair, NJ (PRWEB) February 17, 2017
PAINWeekEnd (PWE) Southfield on April 1 and 2, at the Westin Southfield Detroit at 1500 Town Center, will be an educational and exciting 2-day program. Pain management in Michigan has been in the news a lot, from a physician who hasn’t prescribed opioids in a decade, to reduced opioid prescribing for veterans, to an NIH-granted 5-year study of chronic pain. PWE helps practitioners keep up, providing busy clinicians and allied healthcare practitioners with 12.0 hours of relevant, practical instruction in the management of chronic pain.
Course topics/titles (subject to change) include Pain Pathophysiology Unraveled; Nonopioid Analgesics: Antidepressants, Adjuvant Therapies, and Muscle Relaxants; If 6 Were 9: The CDC's Prescribing Guidelines and the Veil of Secrecy; Pain Diagnostics: Clinical Pearls to Improve Common Tests for Pain; Not for Human Consumption: New Drugs of Abuse and Their Detection; The Medical Stasi: Is Risk Management for Controlled Substances Destroying the Provider-Patient Relationship?; Chronic Pain Patients Who Fail Standard Treatment: Identification and Strategies; Ain't Misbehavin': Decreasing and Managing Pain Patient Aberrant Behavior; The Use of Viscosupplementation in FDA-Approved and Nonapproved Joints; Arachnoiditis: Diagnosis and Treatment; The Five Coping Skills That Every Patient Needs; and Botulinum Toxins as Neuromodulators in Chronic Pain Management.
In addition, there will be commercially supported activities addressing a range of product, disease state, and medical information topics. To see the complete agenda and more information about this or other PAINWeekEnd Regional Conference offerings, go to painweekend.org.
