Lessons From Cubs, Indians Inspire Workshop To Build Winning Culture
Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) February 21, 2017 -- Leading With Courage℠ Academy, a company founded by a best-selling author and a management consultant who took three trips to the World Series with the Cleveland Indians and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, has created a workshop that draws from several strategies for building a world-class culture. Their inspiration? The World Series champion Chicago Cubs and their fierce 7-game competitors, the Cleveland Indians.
“The Cubs and Indians meeting in the World Series was talked about as a fantasy scenario for decades,” says Trent Clark, co-founder of Leading With Courage℠ Academy. “The reality is that both organizations succeeded in reaching the World Series through a very structured plan for success that included elevating young talent through the system. Businesses have their own versions of a ‘farm system’ yet they never know how to call up tomorrow’s rising stars to give them the proper opportunities to shine.”
Clark has a World Series ring to show for his baseball background, a part of his story that he now weaves into Leading With Courage℠ Workshops to help businesses identify and reach their goals. In each workshop, participants identify which among nine potential behaviors they’re exhibiting most often that may derail their career growth and success. In doing so, they build greater self-awareness of their blind spots, such as if they tend to say, “I can do that myself” too often or continually focus on too many ideas at once.
Clark is often joined in these workshops by his co-founder, Lee Eisenstaedt, author of “Being A Leader With Courage: How To Succeed In Your C-Level Position In 18 Months Or Less."
“Baseball organizations have many more similarities with business organizations than most people realize,” says Eisenstaedt. “As it’s been continually demonstrated, when there’s a fantastic chemistry that everyone buys into, it means so much for taking a talented team over the top. Our Leading With Courage Workshop teaches new and emerging leaders how to move toward a similar dynamic with useful steps they can utilize as soon as that day.”
The Academy is providing a preview of what workshop participants can come to expect through an eBook available for download at no charge entitled, “Building A World Champion Culture: 7 Keys To Victory For Leaders With Courage.”
Within the eBook, the authors cite lessons such as “ripping off the rearview mirror” to look forward (instead of at 108 years of not winning a title, in the Cubs’ case) or setting ambitious goals from the very beginning, such as making the playoffs or reaching a quarterly sales target.
Leading With Courage℠ Workshops are available in one half day, full day and two-day sessions. Businesses that are interested in helping their new and emerging leaders make a bigger impact sooner can learn more by calling 312-827-2643 or visiting http://www.LWCAcademy.com.
