Shenzhen to Host LocWorld33 – Conference to Explore Continuous Delivery

The organizers of the conference and exhibition, LocWorld, are producing an Asian version of the event in Shenzhen, February 28 – March 2. LocWorld33 Shenzhen brings together delegates who are engaged in the business of adapting products, services and communications to an international language or culture so as to appear native to that particular region. Speakers at the conference include representatives from Alibaba, Cisco Systems Inc., Credit Suisse Founder Securities, GoDaddy, Google, IBM, LeEco, Line and many others. More than 250 delegates representing all manner of industries are expected to attend.

According to Donna Parrish, publisher of the magazine MultiLingual and co-organizer of LocWorld, the event is valuable for people responsible for communicating across the boundaries of language and culture. “Our program consists of proven strategies that help organizations be successful by managing language content, controlling quality and staying abreast of ever-changing technology.”

Ulrich Henes, conference co-organizer and president of The Localization Institute, says, “Shenzhen is an important trade and financial center with a robust technology and manufacturing base. We’re excited to be hosting a conference here. Attendees are going to enjoy a program that offers many opportunities for learning with some excellent networking opportunities.”

Jeffrey Towson, a professor at Peking University, best-selling author and an expert on how Chinese consumers and competitors are disrupting global markets will deliver the keynote, “Asia 2025: What a Region Transformed by Chinese Consumers, Competitors and Capital Is Going to Look Like.” Jeffrey will detail the longer-term impact of economic forces already underway, such as the rapidly rising number of Chinese consumers (especially Chinese women and millennials); digital transformation of industry; mobile innovation and services and others.

The preconference day will include preconference sessions that include a game localization round table, an introduction-to-localization workshop, terminology workshops and more.

Attendees may choose from five tracks during the main conference: Advanced Localization Management, Technical, TAUS, Content Management and Unconference.
