Sadly quite often this results in negative spotlight on national media for both police and minorities.

Freddie Smith’s new book, An Endangered Species ($10.99, paperback, 9781498496469; $5.99, eBook, 9781498496476) was written to promote healthy interactions between minorities and authorities. For African-American and Hispanic young men in particular, the organization associated with the book assists them in opening up a more positive dialogue with those in authority positions, and to create a society of positive, responsible young men who ‘give back’ to the community by shouldering the shared responsibility of helping others.
Smith says, “Every society has social problems and everyone living within that society is affected by those social problems, and as such, has a responsibility to work toward the betterment of that society. There is not a day that goes by that the relationship between low to moderate income community residents and the police is not put to the test. Sadly quite often this results in negative spotlight on national media for both police and minorities.”
