Marfeel Mobile Ad Solution Delivers Apple News and Google Newsstand Compatibility for English-Speaking Markets
Barcelona, Spain (PRWEB) March 01, 2017 -- Mobile ad technology platform Marfeel, which led the way in supporting Google AMP and Facebook Instant Articles on its platform last year, has added immediate compatibility with Apple News and Google Newsstand, the company announced today at Mobile World Congress 2017. Publishers using the comprehensive Marfeel solution can implement the news app out of the box, quickly and easily, allowing them to automatically submit and distribute their own website content across all Apple formats.
Apple News and Google Newsstand readers gain faster page loads on a newly-designed app that aggregates news feeds, while publishers gain the advantage of generating revenue from desktop as well as mobile advertising in the future.
Last year Marfeel helped both new and existing customers make their mobile content compatible with Google AMP and Facebook Instant Articles, enabling them to achieve faster page loads, maximize monetization, and maintain consistent advertising models across all mobile channels. The company has now followed suit with Apple News and Google Newsstand, which aggregates stories from multiple sources into a single, personalized format compatible with all iOS 10 devices.
Apple News enables publishers “to sell ads in a few key places—in your channel, in articles, and between articles,” Apple’s Ryan Griggs explains in a corporate video, and “create articles in your existing content management system and deliver them through the Apple News API.” Apple originally introduced the news app in 2015 as part of iOS 9, and has upgraded it in iOS 10, the latest release.
Enhancing performance for mobile sites has never been more important to publishers, as worldwide mobile use on the Internet surpassed desktop use for the first time late last year. According to StatCounter Global Data, mobile Internet use reached 51.3 percent of market share in November 2016, compared to 48.7 percent for desktop. As of January 2017, mobile Internet use worldwide stands at 49.6 percent vs. 45.27 percent for desktop use. (Tablet use has held steady at approximately five percent since mid-2013.)
The trend toward more mobile-friendly, app-like reading experiences is reflected in the advent of HTTPS, which provides greater privacy and security online and makes it possible for publishers to leverage innovative platforms like Apple News, Google AMP, and Facebook Instant Articles.
Marfeel co-founder and COO Juan Margenat notes that the Marfeel platform has long empowered customers to optimize, monetize, and speed up their websites with just a simple implementation. “Introducing Apple News and Google Newsstand-compatible technology is the next step in our constant evolution. Just as with our existing support for Google AMP and Facebook Instant Articles, we make it painless for publishers to ensure their mobile content is compatible with Apple News and Google Newsstand. We add value by facilitating access to another new distribution channel, so publishers can build their exposure to wider audiences, and manage all channels from one point of access as well.”
