I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to help Catalina. Changing people’s lives is the reason we as surgeons do what we do.
Long Island, NY (PRWEB) March 10, 2017
Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island (OCLI) has partnered with RotaCare to help bring back the vision of a patient in need. RotaCare aims to provide free healthcare to those that are in need and have minimal access to medical care.
Catalina Guerrero is a 70 year old woman from Bayshore who suffers from diabetes and cataracts. She has had several problems with her retina for quite some time and was experiencing discomforting symptoms including excess tearing and stabbing pain. After being referred by multiple doctors, she ended up at Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island. Dr. Chad Hummel, a cornea, cataract, and refractive surgeon at OCLI’s Massapequa location was selected to perform Catalina’s cataract surgery. “I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to help Catalina. Changing people’s lives is the reason we as surgeons do what we do,” Said Dr. Hummel.
After a successful cataract procedure, Catalina’s sight has significantly improved, with her distance vision only somewhat blurred. Her previous symptoms have been completely resolved and most importantly, she is no longer experiencing pain. “Everybody has been so helpful and I am extremely thankful for Dr. Hummel. Thanks to him and the Lord, my pain is gone and I can see much better now!” Said Catalina.
