Magic and Fantasy Come to the North Valley with Starlight Community Theater’s Presentation of Into the Woods

Starlight Community Theater (SCT) will be presenting Into the Woods for eight (8) performances beginning Friday, March 3 and running through Sunday, March 12. This production will mark the seventh show of SCT’s 2016-2017 season and is presented through special arrangement with Music Theater International.

This sensational musical is a timeless classic that follows classic characters from stories like Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk and Little Red Riding Hood, and are tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife and their quest to start a family. While everyone knows that fairy tales follow the happily ever after approach, Into the Wood is a musical that looks at the consequences of the characters quests and wishes.

“Into the Woods is a musical that remains one of the most beloved musicals of all time, and we are so proud to bring it to life,” says Christian Graca, Director of Into the Woods, “Everyone involved has put in so much time and effort into this show and we can’t wait to share the magic of this show to our audiences.”

Into the Woods is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapin. The show debuted on Broadway in 1987 and then ran for 764 performances while earning numerous awards like “Best Actress” & and “Best Original Book and Score”. After its broadway run, the show spawned numerous national tours and remains a timeless classic amongst musicals in America.
