Author Celebrates Victory Over Domestic Violence Through Poetry in Debut Collection
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (PRWEB) March 03, 2017 -- In “In My Shoes: My Poetic Journey from Abuse to Victory” (published by Lulu), a poetry collection about domestic violence and the triumph over trauma, author Lyn Crain shares her own confessions in the hopes of helping others. The author is launching a marketing campaign to expand the book’s reach.
“Every man, woman and child deserves to be treated with kindness and respect unfortunately that is not the case in our society,” says Crain. “Poetry gives a reader a glimpse into abuse different than reading a book because you can randomly turn to a page.”
Crain’s poetry finds her discovering her inner strength and developing the determination to affect change not only in her own life, but the lives of other victims as well; her words communicate the idea that every person can make a difference if they stand up to abuse.
According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, “On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men.”
