Nation’s Top 100 Colleges and Universities Selected for Resources, Overall Quality

The Community for Accredited Online Schools, a leading resource provider for higher education information, has compiled a list of the best colleges and universities with education and teaching programs for 2017. Of the 50 four-year schools that were ranked, Eastern Michigan University, University of Toledo, Ashland University, Hofstra University and Nova Southeastern University secured the top five spots. Of the top 50 two-year schools, Northeast Mississippi Community College, Coahoma Community College, Eastern Wyoming College, College of Southern Idaho and Itawamba Community College were ranked as the top five.

“There is always a steady demand for well-educated, qualified teachers,” said Doug Jones, CEO and founder of “These schools have demonstrated strength in their teaching and education degree programs with curriculum and resources that set their students up for future success running a classroom.”

To earn a spot on the “Best” programs list, each college and university must be an institutionally accredited, public or private not-for-profit entity. Each school is also considered based on such criteria as student/teacher ratios, employment services, student resources, graduation rates and financial aid availability.
