SCIEX Webinar to Share Study Findings Comparing Targeted and Untargeted Lipidomics Platforms
Yorba Linda, Ca (PRWEB) March 08, 2017 -- The many rapid advances in technologies, along with the increased understanding of the role of lipids in many metabolic diseases, has driven significant research in the field of lipidomics. This rapidly growing field of study complements the huge progress made in genomics and proteomics.
In this webinar, a study will be presented representing the most comprehensive characterization of lipid changes in the context of aging and dietary restrictions to date. The results will show a comparison of both targeted and untargeted lipidomics platforms, which collectively serve as useful resources to the lipidomics community, particularly non-experts, that are interested in comprehensively profiling lipids in biological systems.
SCIEX, who is sponsoring this event, has selected Dr. Kévin Contrepois, staff scientist at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Contrepois received his doctorate from the University of Paris-Sud in France, where his researched research focused on identifying chromatin modifications associated with cellular senescence and understanding their biological implications. He currently leads the metabolomics and lipidomics research in the Snyder laboratory at Stanford University.
He is particularly interested in the integration of metabolome and lipidome to other 'omes' in the framework of precision medicine with a special emphasis on host-gut microbiome interactions. He recently developed an optimized analytical platform involving the combination of HILIC- and RPLC-MS for the comprehensive metabolic profiling of human urine and plasma.
LabRoots will host the webinar on April 14, 2017, beginning at 10:00 a.m. PST, 1:00 p.m. ET. To read more about this event or to register for free, click here.
