“It's all Silly....Says Tilly”: an important tool for teaching the value of being a good friend. “It's all Silly....Says Tilly” is the creation of published author, Sharmaine Bernard, who is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, blogger, homemaker, grandmother, and avid reader/writer.

Teasing and bullying can be a frightening and hurtful experience that causes others to feel badly about themselves and unaccepted. Tilly, who experiences teasing, shows kindness to Billy when he is now the one being teased. Instead of standing by and going along with Billy’s teaser, Tilly chooses to show kindness and a friendship begins. Together, they show kindness toward others and help them to feel accepted. Tilly believes kindness in even the smallest gesture can turn the sadness and hurt of teasing and bullying around and provide friendship. It is the quirky, and unusual differences that make each person special. Tilly doesn’t mind at all that others are different. She wants everyone to get along and have fun.
