Highest 5-Cap Ratings Awarded to California, Maine, New York and Ohio 529 Plans
Miami, FL (PRWEB) March 16, 2017 -- Savingforcollege.com, the leading independent source of information related to 529 plans and other ways to save and pay for college, has published 5-Cap Ratings for the quarter ended December 31, 2016.
Ratings are assigned to each state-sponsored program ranging from one cap (least attractive) to 5 caps (most attractive). The 5-Cap Rating represents an opinion of the overall usefulness of a state's 529 plan based on many considerations.
According to Savingforcollege.com, a plan with a rating of 5 Caps offers outstanding flexibility, attractive investments and additional economic benefits (such as generous tax incentives) that can offer a substantial boost in savings for some investors. There are few, if any, weaknesses in these programs.
California’s Scholarshare College Savings Plan, Maine’s NextGen College Investing Plan, New York’s 529 College Savings Program - Direct and Ohio’s CollegeAdvantage Direct 529 Savings Program all received ratings of 5-Caps for residents and non-residents investing in the plans.
A total of 17 savings plans received a 5-Cap Rating in either the resident or non-resident category. These plans are listed below.
“We provide an independent and objective assessment to prospective investors,” commented Martha Kortiak Mert, VP of Marketing for Savingforcollege.com. “The distinction of a 5-Cap Rating helps consumers and financial professionals make an informed decision when selecting a college savings plan.”
