Attorneys Henry Bahk, Ralph Rogari and Martin Stanley Win $661,100 Jury Award Against Samho Tours, Inc. (삼호관광) for a Couple in Bus Crash
(PRWEB) March 22, 2017 -- Jury orders Samho Tours, Inc. (삼호관광) to pay $661,000 to couple injured in bus crash.
A jury found that a Korean tour operator, Samho Tour, Inc.'s negligence in crashing a tour bus caused serious injuries to two Korean passengers on Memorial Day Weekend 2014. The jury awarded the couple $661,100.00 plus costs of litigation.
The jury found the plaintiffs suffered depression and PTSD after the driver lost control of the bus and flipped it upside down on a mountainous road north of Ensenada, Mexico. Many of the 26 passengers on the bus were injured and the driver, Paul Roh, died at the scene. Trial documents allege bus was not equipped with seat belts. The trial judge did not allow the jury to consider whether punitive damages should be awarded against the company for operating the tour without insurance.
Trial began on February 28, 2017 and closing arguments were heard on March 14, 2017. The jury’s verdict was reached on March 16, 2017.
