PAINWeekEnd (PWE) Atlanta on April 29 and 30, at the Loews Atlanta Hotel at 1065 Peachtree Street NE, will be an educational and exciting 2-day program. The DEA reports, according to a March 15th post on the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, that Georgia is #9 among the top 10 states with the highest number of armed robberies of pharmacies. Tougher licensing laws have been instituted, with law enforcers going after physicians accused of arbitrarily overprescribing narcotics. Who is losing? Patients in pain. PAINWeekEnd Atlanta will provide busy clinicians and allied healthcare practitioners with 12.0 hours of relevant, practical instruction in the management of chronic pain, and give them ample opportunity to network and ask key opinion leaders the questions they want answered.

Course Titles (subject to change): The Complex Pain Patient; Embrace 2017 Practice Changes and Patient Education: Overview of Critical Pain Management Practice Issues; Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP): Hoax or Hope?; Cost Containment; Get Your Specimens in Order: How to Avoid Bad Company and Tame the Paper Beast Associated With Testing Drugs of Abuse; Functional Pain Syndromes; Nonopioid Analgesics: Antidepressants, Adjuvant Therapies, and Muscle Relaxants; Innovative Interventional Approaches to Pain Management in the Elderly; Trainwreck: Addressing Complex Pharmacotherapy With the Inherited Pain Patient; Rational Polypharmacy; A Gathering Storm: Are Perioperative Opioids Problematic?; and The Medical Stasi: Is Risk Management for Controlled Substances Destroying the Provider-Patient Relationship? Commercially supported activities—addressing a range of product, disease state, and medical information topics—will also be presented.

Online registration fee for this PAINWeekEnd Conference: $199. PAINWeekEnd registrants may register for the PAINWeek National Conference, September 5-9, in Las Vegas, for $200 off the current online published price.
