Winning professionals and Economic Development Organizations (EDOs) are nominated by SSG members and are selected based on mastery of process; ingenuity and creativity; going above and beyond; political acumen; staying power; and personal, caring touch.

The 2017 SSG Excellence in Economic Development award winners are:

  •     Dave Smith, Brunswick-Glynn County Development Authority (Georgia)
  •     Tom Brymer, Town of Westlake (Texas)
  •     Casey Barnes, Orlando Economic Development Commission (Florida)
  •     Charleston Regional Development Authority (South Carolina)
  •     Roanoke Regional Partnership (Virginia)
  •     Invest Macedonia (International Award)

“All of our award winners this year are outstanding,” said Mark Williams, SSG Board Chairman. “Each recipient provides a unique example of what it takes to be a successful economic developer.”
