The New 4100DBDL - the Deadbolt Split Latch Solution
Bethel, CT (PRWEB) April 12, 2017 -- The new 4100DBDL by Trine provides an unconventional solution for mortise locks with deadbolts. Utilizing the design of the very popular 4100, two separate latches are controlled by two separate mechanisms. It is the only electric strike of its kind to provide this level of control at the access point.
The strike was initially designed to allow an override in dorm rooms. A student has privacy when the dead latch is thrown, but in an emergency, a higher permission level will override the deadbolt. The same applies for most bathroom installations, whether in schools, healthcare, or office situations. A user may throw a deadbolt for privacy and this economic solution provides an override in case of emergency. The dual latches allow a greater refinement of access in quiet rooms, pharmacies, labs, tool rooms, or anywhere a deadbolt is used but where the strike should not necessarily release without proper credentials. The two latches can provide a method of dual credentialing.
The 4100DBDL comes with 4 faceplates that work with a variety of mortise locks. It has a 3 hour fire rating, low current draw (PoE Friendly) and operates on 12 & 24 AC/DC. Due to having completely independent control of the latches, each latch can be configured as fail secure or fail safe.
Trine Access Technology is introducing its new line of Specialized Solutions Electric Strike Series with the 4100DBDL. This series of products will focus on solving problems that are currently solved with less efficient, more labor intensive, and more expensive methods.
