Richard-Paul La Corte’s New Book “In the Year of Grace and The Enclosed Garden” is a Portrayal of a Man’s Journey from Dissolute to Christian
(PRWEB) April 14, 2017 -- Richard-Paul La Corte, a priest, professor, and opera enthusiast has completed his new book “In the Year of Grace and The Enclosed Garden”: an intriguing spiritual journey of a man throughout his lifetime.
LaCorte was born on May 28, 1946, in Boston, Massachusetts. He went to college at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, where he received his BA in speech and drama, class of 1968. After graduation, he was a schoolteacher in Saint Croix, US Virgin Islands. Later, LaCorte went to seminary at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, where he received his MA in spirituality in 1986. He was ordained priest on May 15, 1987, at the diocese of Fargo, North Dakota, where he served as parish priest from 1987 until 2012. He also served with Franciscans of the Holy Land in Israel and Cyprus from 1996 until 2000. Then from 2006 until 2008, LaCorte taught philosophy in Indian River State College in Florida and from 2009 to 2010 at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota. In 2012, LaCorte retired from the diocese of Fargo. He then moved to Mississippi in 2013 to continue working as parish priest.
According to LaCorte, “The poetry has been composed over most of my adult life. The novel came to me in the most vivid dream of my life back in 1978. In the dream, I’d written a work that attempted to undo Stendahl’s ‘Le Rouge et Le Noir’ by portraying a man’s journey from dissolute to Christian.”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Father Richard-Paul La Corte’s inspirational tale is told from the view point of a priest on behalf of his friend, Julien LeRos, who dictated his life to him over the period of many months.
The reader may be blessed with insight and knowledge of the living God, by reading the account of Julien LeRos’s life. Additionally, a collection of poetry is included, that La Corte has written throughout his life, which gives the reader insight into obtaining spiritual growth.
