The buzz around Homie comes largely from the fact that homeowners are saving an average of $10,000 per transaction.

Start-up tech company Homie, a digitally driven peer-to-peer marketplace that helps buyers and sellers meet and complete real estate transactions, took home two awards this past week, the Peak 100 and Epic 100. Both awards were distributed by Utah Venture Entrepreneur Forum, a non-profit organization that recognizes entrepreneurs and helps them connect with mentors and capital. The awards are sponsored by two venture capital firms, Peak Ventures and EPIC Ventures.
The EPIC 100 award goes to the most buzzed about companies that are less than five years old. EPIC recognized Homie as a Utah-based company quickly expanding its market share and influence. “The buzz around Homie comes largely from the fact that homeowners are saving an average of $10,000 per transaction,” said Ryan Hemingway, Director at EPIC Ventures.
The Peak 100 award recognizes innovative entrepreneurs with Utah ties that will likely favorably impact the community. Johnny Hanna (who already hit the $100 million mark in annual recurring revenue with his first entrepreneurial venture, Entrata) was recognized for his role as Homie CEO and Co-founder.
“I’m humbled to see this positive response from both the public and business community,” said Johnny Hanna, CEO of Homie. “I credit our outstanding growth to the smarts and hustle of my fellow Homies. Our team has automated both the buying and the financing of a home in just a little over a year. The results have been incredible. In March, 2017, we had ~200 homes that either went under contract or closed, compared to a total of ~400 in 2016. Our growth has been crazy awesome.”
