Automotive advertising technology provider, Speed Shift Media, wins the Most Valuable Insight award at the DrivingSales Presidents Club conference.
Speed Shift Media’s study, “How Well Does Dealership Vehicle Detail Page Engagement Correlate to Car Sales?,” shows that photo and video engagement is the only vehicle detail page (VDP) engagement category which correlates to cars sales.
The study tracked 56,517 vehicles sold during a 60 day period and categorized all VDP clicks into 5 categories: photo and video engagement, form engagement, chat and texts, social sharing, and internal/external links.
“This study shows that consumers will typically increase their interactions with photos when they get closer to purchasing a vehicle, whereas no other category shows a significant increase,” explains Ian Cruickshank, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Speed Shift Media. “Sometimes, the most detailed research can be explained in simple terms. What this shows us is that car buyers look at the car they want to buy more often as they get closer to making a purchase.
