Over 30 Colleges Chosen for Overall Excellence in Online Learning, Student Resources

The Community for Accredited Online Schools, a leading resource provider for higher education information, released its list of the best colleges and universities with online programs in Tennessee for 2017. Of the 23 four-year schools that qualified for the list, Vanderbilt University, The University of Tennessee—Knoxville, Carson-Newman University, Union University and University of Memphis came in as the top five. 10 two-year colleges were also honored; Chattanooga State Community College, Roane State Community College, Walters State Community College, Nashville State Community College and Pellissippi State Community College were the top five schools.

To earn a spot on the Community for Accredited Online Schools list, colleges and universities must be accredited, public or private not-for-profit institutions. Each college is also evaluated based on government-sourced metrics that include graduation rates, the availability of academic and student services, financial aid opportunities and student/teacher ratios.
