Pinnacle Performance Academy Aims to Address U.K. Employability Skills Gap Through Effective Communication Skills Training
London, UK (PRWEB UK) 18 April 2017 -- Launched today, Pinnacle Performance Academy provides effective communication skills training to address the employability gap between the skills U.K. businesses require and student’s existing soft skills, while improving potential life choices and access to employment, further education, or entrepreneurship for students and graduates.
The top three skills U.K. employers seek in young recruits includes communication, teamwork and confidence, according to The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Employers now rate communication skills as their highest priority above qualifications, with 60 percent of employers’ stating that applicants are not demonstrating sufficient communication and interpersonal skills, according to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. The Economic Cost of youth unemployment through lost productivity and benefits payments annually is £4.69B, according to The Prince’s Trust.
“We are teaching one of the most needed skills for career success today because we believe students, graduates, and those exposed to less opportunities due to social mobility, deserve better, brighter futures,” said Lizzie Yirrell, Global Head of Pinnacle Performance Academy. “We know we can make a difference by empowering them with world-class, award-winning communication skills training that can unlock their employability potential and support their progression into further education or the business sector, while providing the essential communication skills businesses demand.”
Pinnacle Performance Academy will initially collaborate with educational institutions across the U.K. to improve life and career opportunities for secondary students, college and university students, recent graduates, as well as disadvantaged youths and adults, by helping improve their communication skills. The Academy teaches the same core communication skills its sister company, Pinnacle Performance Company, teaches to business professionals around the world to help them captivate, influence and communicate more effectively. Students will learn how to deliver their messages credibly, confidently and concisely using Performance-based communication skills, the same time-tested performance techniques that have made actors’ confident, believable and engaging for centuries. They will also learn Pinnacle’s award-winning, three-step process, the Pinnacle Method®, which teaches participants to understand and master how to communicate with purpose.
Through workshops, seminars, assemblies, career days, individual coaching and virtual learning, the Academy provides participants with the communication skills needed for interviewing, including creating a strong first impression and overcoming nerves, handling difficult questions and crafting a positioning statement. Students also will learn on the job communication skills, including communicating in meetings, presentation skills, handling difficult conversations and maintaining executive presence.
To raise funds for this effort, Pinnacle Performance Academy employees will participate in the National Three Peaks Challenge on 25th July 2017. The Challenge involves climbing 39.2 km (24.5 miles) up the tallest mountains in England, Scotland & Wales – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon – in 24 hours. Pinnacle Performance Academy’s goal is to raise £20,000 for disadvantaged young people. To donate: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/pinnacleperformanceacademy
