Don Riling Reveals Visionary Hot Tub & Sauna Showroom on Lake Union

Olympic Hot Tub returns to Lake Union, where 40 years ago in 1977 Blair Osborn & Alice Cunningham introduced hot tubs to Seattle eventually growing their business to include five stores around the Puget Sound region. As a nod to the Olympic Hot Tub legacy, new owner Don Riling (a 22-year Olympic Hot Tub employee who purchased the company from Blair and Alice in August, 2016) opens the new Seattle showroom on the lakefront with a modern and welcoming vibe. A number of hot tubs & saunas will be operational for test soak and sauna sessions before buying!

Olympic Hot Tub created the new space with Nelson Architects. Project Designer Edith Bukenya shares some of the design features for the spacious 3,200 square foot showroom:

  •     Expansive windows take advantage of the Lake Union view
  •     A separate mood room for hot tub & sauna testing with LED lights in the ceiling to simulate a star-filled sky
  •     A Finnleo custom-designed traditional steam sauna in the mood room to help inspire homeowners to create a personal sauna oasis at home for daily wellness
  •     Natural ventilation saving money on HVAC installation
  •     Textured concrete around hot tubs and saunas to enhance safety
  •     Special carpet to prevent water vapor from infiltrating the subfloor
  •     A large restroom with high-end fixtures and finishes
  •     Custom cabinetry designed from Don’s vision

Don Riling adds: “Olympic Hot Tub’s mantra is ‘Welcome to the Wellness Generation’. Being back on Lake Union reflects our mission to create wellness through water. This is a much bigger showroom than we’ve ever had for our Seattle customers and we’re able to show a broader range of hot tubs & saunas for all kinds of spaces like back yards, houses, condos, patios and even boats!”

Olympic Hot Tub will be celebrating their Grand Opening the weekend of May 5-7. Special events including onsite broadcasting with DJ Matt Case noon to 2 p.m. on May 6 from The Jet 95.7FM, giveaways including as a pair of U2 tickets and Olympic Hot Tub products, and opportunities to experience the hot tubs and saunas! Plenty of onsite parking available.
