Ela Lourenco pens novel with needs of dyslexic children in mind

Ela Lourenco’s daughter requested one thing from her mother when she was diagnosed with dyslexia. She asked that her mother use her writing background and deep love of literature to create a book that other dyslexic children could easily comprehend and follow. Lourenco has fulfilled her daughter’s wish, bringing to life a new fantasy adventure series that all readers can enjoy in “Radiant: Book 1: Ascension Series.”

“In my studies of dyslexia, I have found that individuals with reading disabilities often do not take pleasure in traditional novels because they grow tired and frustrated quickly,” Lourenco said. “Radiant was written so that everyone, including those with reading disabilities can appreciate the gift of reading. It quickly jumps into the action, the chapters are short, and the book doesn’t feature common words that dyslexic children struggle to understand.”

“Radiant” captures the harrowing tale of young orphan Sena. As her once peaceful planet of Xanos comes under attack, Sena’s life is thrown into chaos by a darkness that looms on the horizon. Sena fights to save her way of life, but deception and uncertainty stand in the way of this fierce heroine fulling her destiny.
