Stratford School Brings Excitement and Imagination to Los Angeles Area with Summer Performing Arts Camps
Los Angeles, Calif. (PRWEB) April 18, 2017 -- Looking for a fantastic summer camp experience for your third through seventh grader in the Los Angeles area? Stratford School in Los Angeles and Altadena will offer two unique performing arts programs to jump start creativity and inspire kids with a Broadway Musical Theater Camp and Intensive Short Film Camp.
Led by professionals working in the entertainment industry, campers will learn what it takes to put on a Broadway show or produce a film. Each camp will conclude with a red carpet event showcasing what kids have learned.
Performing Arts Camp Dates:
• July 10 to 28: Broadway Musical Theater Camp
• July 31 to August 4: Intensive Short Film Camp
Camps are offered simultaneously at two Stratford School locations:
• Stratford School Los Angeles Melrose, 1200 N. Cahuenga Ave.
• Stratford School Altadena, 2046 Allen Ave.

Broadway Musical Theater Camp
• Campers will stretch their imaginations refining their acting, singing and dancing skills
• Kids will work with professional actors in musical theater, including Master Teacher Katie Wallace
• Special guests, featuring Broadway stars, will teach a variety of workshops
• Kids will learn and perform a variety of Broadway musical numbers
• Experience includes set design, props and costumes
Intensive Short Film Camp
• Campers will learn what it takes to create a short film from start to finish
• Kids will work with faculty who are professionals currently studying and working in the film industry, including David Del Rio, Danica DiLeonardo, and Austin Koch
• Special guest visits by stars of film and television throughout the week
• Activities include film conception, script writing and casting
• They’ll have an opportunity to act and guest star in their own films
• Campers will work with professional equipment and learn how to work a camera
• They’ll find out what it’s like to be on location shooting a film
• Kids will explore skills in editing and techniques in sound recording
Faculty Bios
David Del Rio: An actor best known for starring in Fox’s Grease Live! Universal Studios’ Pitch Perfect, and Blumhouse’s The Belko Experiment. He's also starred in Disney's Geek Charming and on Broadway in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In The Heights. He is a graduate of New World School of the Arts in Miami, Florida, and the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, School of Film and Television.
Katie Wallace: A graduate of New York University Tisch School of the Arts, Katie has performed on Broadway and is currently working in the film industry in Los Angeles. She was recently seen on Fox’s Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life, MTV’s Awkward, NBC’s Are You There Chelsea?, and Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush.
Danica DiLeonardo: Currently studying film and television production, and pre-law with an emphasis in entertainment and media law at the University of California Santa Cruz, Danica has a background in live theater and is an aspiring director and producer. She produces as many as five films a year and manages the Film Production Unit on campus at UCSC.
Austin Koch: A film student at the University of California Santa Cruz with an emphasis on production skills, Austin brings the enthusiasm of an Eagle Scout and the skills of a professional to help kids learn about what it takes to tell engaging stories on film.
