The Institutes CPCU Society Announces Program and Keynote Speaker for 2017 Annual Meeting
Malvern, PA (PRWEB) April 19, 2017 -- The Institutes CPCU Society is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2017 Annual Meeting. The three-day conference will kick off in Orlando, Fla., on September 16 and is expected to draw more than 2,000 risk management and insurance professionals from across the world to discuss the latest industry trends.
During the event, the professionals who have recently earned The Institutes’ Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU®) designation will be recognized at The Institutes’ Conferment Ceremony, featuring keynote speaker Jose Rene (“J.R.”) Martinez. As The Institutes premier designation, the CPCU provides insurance professionals with the training they need to meet the changes and challenges of a demanding risk management and insurance marketplace with confidence and professionalism.
Martinez is an American actor, author, speaker and U.S. Army veteran who, just one month after his deployment to Iraq, hit a roadside bomb and sustained severe burns to over 34 percent of his body. During his recovery, Martinez discovered the positive impact that sharing his story could have, and he has since traveled the world, inspiring others. Martinez is known for his role on All My Children, his winning performances on Dancing with the Stars, and his New York Times bestseller Full of Heart: My Story of Survival, Strength and Spirit.
“We are very excited to introduce this year’s program, which offers attendees the opportunity to learn the skills and strategies essential to career advancement from leading industry experts, as well as each other,” said Peter L. Miller, CPCU, president and CEO of The Institutes and chairman of the CPCU Society Board of Directors. “It is also a great honor to host J.R. Martinez, whose experience is sure to be inspiring to the many professionals attending our conference.”
This year’s meeting will provide attendees with technical education and professional development through more than 30 educational sessions led by over 50 expert speakers. Topics that will be explored include:
- Cyber risk
- Leading diverse and remote teams
- Artificial intelligence and smart technology
- Blockchain
- Personal branding
In addition, as a new benefit this year, attendees holding the CPCU designation will earn 15 automatically reported credit hours toward The Institutes’ Continuing Education (CE) for CPCUs program.
“Lifelong learning is critical to keeping risk management and insurance professionals on top of the emerging issues that are rapidly changing the insurance landscape,” said Michael Koscielny, CPCU, president and chair of the CPCU Society Leadership Council. “This year’s meeting will demonstrate the importance of not only possessing key technical and leadership skills but also of the role of continuing education in meeting personal and workplace goals and objectives.”
