Telemedicine Pioneer Dr. Nina Antoniotti Appointed to SnapMD Clinical Advisory Board

Dr. Antoniotti brings to the position a rich history helping dozens of care programs across the nation implement technology services, Health Information Technology (HIT) and operational procedures necessary to initiate and become sustainable in telemedicine applications. She currently sits as the executive director for telehealth and clinical outreach at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.

Dr. Antoniotti is industry acclaimed for her pioneering efforts in the development of telehealth, technology/operational guidelines for telehealth standards, integration and business plan development, clinical services, evaluation, HIPAA, technology innovation and needs assessments. Working in the field of virtual care for almost two decades, she brings a unique perspective to the world of telehealth understanding that the tools are developed and implemented as a core strategy to take care of patients and sustain healthcare systems.
She previously served as a board member of the American Telemedicine Association (ATA), past Chair and current member of the ATA Standards and Guidelines Committee, a former-chair of the ATA Policy Committee and current member, and is past vice-president of the board of the Center for Telemedicine Law, Washington, DC.
In addition to her leadership positions at the ATA, Dr. Antoniotti is also known globally for her work in telemedicine in China and Iran. She has appeared before the Institute of Medicine, the Federal Communications Commission, the National Committee on Black Legislators, and many other governmental and accrediting agencies, speaking on the legal and policy issues surrounding telehealth and virtual care.
