Access Partner The Last Well Funds a New Liberian Village Well Through 4th Annual First Baptist Dallas Easter Run
Sulphur Springs, Texas (PRWEB) April 20, 2017 -- Access today announced that its non-profit partner The Last Well (TLW), which provides disease-free water in Liberia, received enough donations from First Baptist’s annual Easter Run (#DallasEasterRun) to build a well that will serve an entire Liberian village. The event took place on Sunday April 16, 2017 in downtown Dallas.
More than 500 racers competed in one of two distances: one mile or four miles. Everyone from children to 99 year old Orville Rogers, who completed the one mile course (see picture). After the races, competitors and their families participated in a hot breakfast, awards ceremony and also a screening of ‘The Last Well’ documentary. This is the second straight year that First Baptist has made TLW the beneficiary of the Easter Run.
“We’re grateful to First Baptist for their support and to everyone who participated in and volunteered for the Easter Run,” said TLW founder and president Dr. Todd Phillips. “Their contribution will help bring life to a whole village in Liberia through the Gospel and clean water.”
TLW aims to bring clean water and the good news of Jesus Christ to every Liberian man, woman and child by the end of the decade. To date, TLW has reached more than 1.3 million Liberians through more than 2,000 water projects. To reach their ultimate goal, the TLW team needs to reach 850,000 more people with 2,000+ additional water projects. Just $20 gives a Liberian child clean water for life.
Those wanting to support The Last Well’s mission can start a fundraising project on TLW’s website or make a recurring or one-off donation. Or they can mail a check to:
