Celebrating the Game of Golf: Lyman Orchards Hosts Golf and Family-Focused "Grow the Game" Event
MIDDLEFIELD, CT (PRWEB) May 04, 2017 -- The state of the game of golf is strong, and Lyman Orchards wants to further strengthen it with “Grow the Game,” Saturday, May 6th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The family-friendly event will feature free greens fees all day and complimentary clinics throughout the day. And the driving range will also be no excess cost for participants from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The day will be filled with fun activities, including a 20-foot inflatable lizard golf target, yoga sessions, and an obstacle course, as well as a fierce competition among Lyman’s professional instructors at 1:30 p.m. Speaking of competitive…The UCONN Men’s Golf team will run a clinic as well.
According to Jason Beffert, General Manager of Lyman Orchards’ Golf Club, “The PGA and LPGA pros at Lyman Orchards teach more than 700 students every season. We’re talking about students with an enormous range of ability, from young beginners to seasoned veterans of the game. And what they all have in common when they play here is that the learning doesn’t end with just a few lessons: those students continue to refine their game every time they hit the ball at Lyman.”
The event takes place at Lyman Orchards’ Golf Center, a renowned practice facility that features a driving range with target greens and bunkers, a large putting green with undulating hills, and a large chipping area for players to work on their short game. All these features are surrounded by a par-29 course that’s perfect for beginners (it’s less intimidating and more inviting than traditional 18-hole courses) and still challenging for seasoned golfers.
