Chicago-based Fresh Thyme Farmers Market has engaged SiteSeer Technologies for enterprise use of SiteSeer Professional, a web-based analytics platform that helps companies make data-driven location decisions. The full-service specialty grocer focused on value-priced fresh, healthy, natural, and organic offerings will use SiteSeer Professional for all aspects of its site selection.

Fresh Thyme will have access to the Retailer Expansion Pack Suite with SiteSeer, which includes:

  • Site Selection Expansion Pack – Site scoring, opportunity “hot spots,” market strategy and ranking
  • Sales Forecasting Expansion Pack – Analogs, regression models, sales cannibalization models
  • Customer Analysis Pack – Customer segmentation, sales transfer/dilution, and consumer activity analysis through ScorePinion, SiteSeer’s customer intelligence survey system

In addition to using the SiteSeer platform, Fresh Thyme has engaged the SiteSeer Technologies professional services team to help them build forecasting, “hot spot,” and cannibalization models. Fresh Thyme has worked with the professionals of SiteSeer—whose predecessor company is ROIC analytics—since Fresh Thyme’s inception in 2012.

Danielle Yanskey, chief operating officer of SiteSeer Technologies, says that the firm is excited to support Fresh Thyme as the company expands into new territories. “As Fresh Thyme has grown its brand and presence across the United States, the company has relied on our team for our expertise in the grocery industry to help them optimize their stores and expand strategically,” she says. “As they gain momentum, it’s essential that they have the right tools to help them evaluate new and existing sites and make smart business decisions, whether adding new stores or closing underperforming stores to better serve certain markets. We look forward to working with them and helping them make the most of the SiteSeer platform.”

Justin Haasch, director of real estate and market research, says that the company has plans to hit 100 stores by 2019. “We recognize the importance of growing smart and want to embrace the use of location analytics as we expand into new areas,” says Haasch. “SiteSeer is the right tool to help us prioritize markets and rank and compare potential sites based on supply and demand for our offering. Going forward, we’ll have more confidence that every location we open has been carefully evaluated to ensure a high likelihood of success. We’re excited to put the tool to work to make sense of the data we collect and increase our efficiency during this important time of growth for Fresh Thyme.”

Fresh Thyme Farmers Market currently has 58 stores in 10 states across the midwestern United States, with 22 opening in 2017. Learn more about Fresh Thyme at http://www.freshthyme.com.
