Washington Logistics has been retained by Chesapeake Transportation Partners to assist in the formation of a new logistics company that will operate on 100% alternative fuel fleet. The company will be based in Norfolk, VA and will feature CNG, LNG, and Electric powered vehicles.
James E Neebling, Washington Logistics CEO stated, “We are excited to embark on this interesting project! The industry and technology are coming together to provide environmentally conscious transportation solutions. Recently Nikola introduced an electric powered tractor for the trucking industry. The company has approximately 7500 pre-orders, proving the desire to move away from diesel fuel.”
The project will focus on cost models and customer commitments to work with carriers to reduce carbon footprint. Neebling further commented, “Shippers, carriers, and manufacturers are committed to this evolution. The fleet will be complimented with aerodynamic light weight trailers to further increase efficiency.”
The project will be completed by December 2017, and begin operations in early 2018. For additional information please contact jimneebling(at)washingtonlogistics(dot)us.
