Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Julissa Rodriguez Elected to Florida Association for Women Lawyers Board of Directors
(PRWEB) April 26, 2017 -- Julissa Rodriguez, a Shareholder and Chair of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A.’s Miami Appellate Practice Group, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Miami-Dade County Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL). FAWL is a voluntary bar association formed in 1951 that promotes women’s rights and the common interests of women lawyers. It strives to propel women lawyers into economic, social and leadership spheres of power.
“I am very pleased to serve on FAWL’s Board of Directors, which will provide me with an opportunity to give back to an organization that has been so helpful to me,” said Rodriguez, who is also a member of Greenberg Traurig's National Appellate Practice. “When I joined FAWL a few years ago, I found a fiercely loyal and generous group of professionals who look after each other and our community – through, among other things, mentoring initiatives, substantive programming on key issues, and interaction with judges, in-house counsel and other professionals in our field to expand our networks. I look forward to continuing our work and building on our success.”
Rodriguez, who also co-chairs FAWL’s Table for 8 committee for state court judges, is Board Certified in Appellate Practice by The Florida Bar. She focuses her practice on appellate litigation and trial support during all stages of litigation leading up to an appeal, which includes pre-trial motion practice, jury instructions, and post-trial motion practice, as well as advising clients on securing stays of judgments while a case is pending on appeal. Rodriguez represents clients in both state and federal courts in a variety of areas of the law, including products liability, medical malpractice, employment litigation, and contract disputes
