Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Sandra Gonzalez Elected to Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation
(PRWEB) April 26, 2017 -- Sandra D. Gonzalez, recently elevated shareholder with international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has been elected to membership in the Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation. Fellows of the Foundation are selected for their outstanding personal achievements and their demonstrated commitment to the improvement of the justice system throughout the State of Texas, according to the Foundation’s website. Each year, only one-third of one percent of state bar members are invited to become Fellows.
"We are proud of Sandra for being recognized by the Texas Bar Foundation,” said Thomas J. Bond, recently named co-managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Austin office. “This honor is well-deserved recognition for her continuous pursuit of excellence in the legal profession and for serving our community.”
Gonzalez has an active law practice while continuing to serve the community in various capacities. She focuses her practice on international compliance matters including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and the UK Bribery Act, among others. She assists clients in designing and implementing anti-corruption compliance policies and procedures, assisting in compliance investigations, and performing risk assessments. Gonzalez is the pro bono liaison for the Austin office and regularly organizes events to facilitate other attorneys’ involvement. She has held leadership and committee positions in the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association (TCWLA) and also received the President’s Award from TCWLA. She provides pro bono counsel to numerous clients through her work with American Gateways.
The Texas Bar Foundation is the largest charitably-funded bar foundation in the country. Founded in 1965 by lawyers determined to assist the public and improve the profession of law, the Texas Bar Foundation has maintained its mission of using the financial contributions of its membership to build a strong justice system for all Texans.
